Growth engineering in Toronto
Ariadne is based in Toronto and works with owner-led service businesses across Canada and the United States. Delivery is remote, which for this kind of work is genuinely better than being in the room — but being local matters for some of it, and this page is about which parts.

Where being Canadian actually changes the work
Most of growth engineering is jurisdiction-neutral. A follow-up sequence works the same way in Toronto as in Denver. Four things do not.
CASL. The CRTC explains that commercial electronic messages generally require consent, identification information, and a working unsubscribe mechanism, and that the sender should be able to prove consent. Every sequence Ariadne builds for a Canadian business therefore treats consent and its source as data, not as a footer-only concern.
Privacy. Depending on the organization and activity, PIPEDA governs personal information handled in commercial activities. In Ontario, PHIPA sets specific rules for personal health information and health information custodians. That shapes what a clinic should collect through a marketing form and where it should land, which is why the clinics page has a section on constraints rather than a section on lead volume.
Professional advertising rules. Law firms answer to the Law Society of Ontario, whose rules require marketing to be demonstrably true, accurate, and verifiable. Regulated health practitioners answer to the standards of their own colleges. The precise obligations depend on the profession, so regulated-sector work is scoped against the current primary rules and specialist advice where needed.
Currency, tax, and search context. Proposals state prices in CAD and make any applicable tax explicit. Search results and local competitors differ by location, so discovery work is assessed in the market where customers actually search rather than copied from a US template.
Where local search matters, and where it does not
Local-search investment should follow how a customer chooses the service, not the fact that the business has a Toronto address.
If you are a contractor or home service business, proximity can materially affect who gets called. Google says local results are based mainly on relevance, distance, and prominence, and recommends complete and accurate business information. A maintained Business Profile and consistent service details are therefore part of the system alongside the website. Ariadne scopes profile work only for businesses that are genuinely eligible.
If you are a consultancy selling a considered engagement to buyers anywhere in North America, local search is close to irrelevant and budget spent there is budget not spent on the channel that would work.
What I will not build is a set of near-identical pages for Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Scarborough, and every other municipality in the GTA. When pages exist only to capture similar location queries and funnel visitors to the same destination, they match the doorway-abuse pattern in Google’s spam policies. A page for an area you genuinely serve and can discuss specifically may be useful; mass name-swaps are not.

Working with a Toronto business
In practice, remote. Video for the calls that need one, a shared channel for everything else, and a written progress note each week. Meeting in person is possible and occasionally useful at the start of a large build, but it is not how the work gets done, and a business in Thunder Bay or Vancouver gets exactly the same service as one on Queen Street.
What being local does change: I work in the same commercial and search context, invoice in CAD, and start regulated work from the relevant Canadian and Ontario rules. Current primary guidance is still checked for each scope; familiarity is not a substitute for verification.

Questions about working locally.
Anything else, put it in the audit form and I will answer directly.
support@ariadne.fyiDo you only work with Toronto businesses?
No. Ariadne is based in Toronto and works with owner-led service businesses across Canada and the United States. Delivery is remote and the work is largely jurisdiction-neutral, apart from consent rules, privacy obligations, and professional advertising standards, which get built to your jurisdiction rather than to mine.
Do we need to meet in person?
Almost never. Video for the calls that need one, a shared channel for everything else, and a written progress note each week. An in-person kickoff is possible for a large build if you would find it useful, but it changes nothing about the outcome.
Will you build location pages for the rest of the GTA?
Only for areas you genuinely serve and can say something specific about. Near-identical pages for every municipality are doorway pages, they violate search engine guidelines, and they do not rank durably. If someone is offering you forty of them, that is a reason to be careful.
Can you set up our Google Business Profile?
I can advise on it and get your business information consistent everywhere it feeds from, but the profile is verified against your business and should be owned by you rather than sitting in a vendor account. For a local business it is one of your most valuable assets, and losing access to it is a serious problem.
Is CASL really that different from US rules?
Yes, materially. CASL generally requires consent before sending commercial messages rather than allowing an opt-out afterwards, and it carries identification, unsubscribe, and record-keeping obligations. A lot of follow-up automation sold to Canadian businesses is configured to a US standard. It gets built properly here, which occasionally means a sequence is shorter than you were hoping.

A growth system audit reviews nine diagnostic checkpoints across the seven-layer system, ranks the highest-priority constraints supported by the evidence, and produces a costed plan you could execute with anyone.
